Rob is a fourth-year medical student at the Yale School of Medicine. He is an assistant researcher in the Clinical and Affective Neuroscience Laboratory, where his research focuses on various applications and effects of mindfulness meditation. He is also the co-founder and president of the Yale Preventative Medicine Interest Group as well as the medical school liaison for the Yale Psychedelic Science Group.
His research before medical school focused on neuroimaging studies of mindfulness meditation as well as on novel psycho-spiritual pharmacologic treatments for substance addictions using 5-MeO-DMT and ibogaine. Rob also worked as a personal trainer with Kailo Fitness and as a strength and conditioning coach with several of the sports teams at Loyola High School in Los Angeles. Rob attended the college at the University of Southern California, where he majored in Human Biology and minored in Psychology and Entrepreneurship, graduating Summa cum Laude. During college, Rob interned at Cressey Sports Performance, the Los Angeles Galaxy (as an athletic training intern), the University of Southern California strength and conditioning staff, Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning, and Athletic Evolution. Rob has avidly taken continuing education courses in a range of areas. He’s attended courses from the Postural Restoration Institute (over a dozen), Functional Anatomy Seminars (FRR spine and FRC), the NOI’s Explain Pain course, the Institute of Functional Medicine’s introductory course, and the IAOMT’s introductory oral myofunctional therapy course. He’s also had the great privilege of shadowing physical therapists and physicians across the country in a variety of settings.
Taken together, these experiences have given Rob an appreciation for the immense complexity of human health, the value of preventative measures, and the tremendous utility of multidisciplinary, multimodal treatment approaches. Looking ahead, he plans to apply to combined medicine-psychiatry residency programs so that he can develop the knowledge and skills to help him provide comprehensive care for patients’ physical and mental health.
Peter is a first-year graduate student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, pursuing a Master’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Muscle, Molecular & Cardiovascular Physiology, and Energy Metabolism. In addition to his academic work, he attends various continuing education courses and seminars.
Peter graduated in May of 2016 from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Molecular and Cellular Biology option) and a Minor in Kinesiology. He is also an alumnus of Phillips Academy Andover (Class of 2012). He is a former competitive hockey player and, while he no longer plays competitively, his longtime involvement in sports has driven his interest in research fields such as nutrition and strength and conditioning.
Peter currently works as a private performance enhancement coach and consultant for several collegiate and professional athletes in baseball, hockey, gymnastics, and golf, as well as a few general fitness clients. He also assists the University of Massachusetts Amherst Football Strength and Conditioning Staff with coaching, data collection, research, and program design. He has previously served as a Strength and Conditioning Intern at Cressey Sports Performance in Hudson, MA, a Strength and Conditioning Intern and Research Assistant with the Pennsylvania State University Men’s Ice Hockey Team, and a Strength and Conditioning Intern at NIKE SPARQ-affiliated Athletic Evolution in Woburn, MA. His writing has been featured on the Postural Restoration website, Mike Reinold’s website, and Eric Cressey’s “Strength and Conditioning Stuff You Should Read” series. Among the athletes Peter has worked with personally are baseball players at the collegiate level (Hendrix College, NCAA Division III) and professional level (St. Louis Cardinals, MLB), ice hockey players at the collegiate level (Bowdoin College, NCAA Division III; Hamilton College, NCAA Division III; Middlebury College, NCAA Division III; Williams College, NCAA Division III; Boston College, NCAA Division I) and the junior level (Junior Bruins, USPHL Premier and Elite Divisions), gymnasts at the collegiate level (Arkansas University, NCAA Division I), and lacrosse players at the professional (Denver Outlaws, MLL) and collegiate levels (Brown University, NCAA Division I).
Peter is also active in research. He currently works as a graduate assistant in Dr. Ned Debold’s Muscle Biophysics Laboratory in the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Kinesiology Department, which focuses on the causes of muscular fatigue at the biochemical level. He previously served as a research assistant in the lab of Dr. Robert Beelman of the Pennsylvania State University Food Science Department, where he aided in investigating the roles of Vitamin D, selenium, glutathione, and L-ergothioneine in health and athletic performance, as well as developing novel methods to increase delivery of these compounds via nutrition and supplementation. He is currently the principal investigator for a study related to Dr. Beelman’s work that is intended to test the ergogenic properties of the antioxidants glutathione and L-ergothioneine in a rodent model.

At Integrative Human Performance, our mission is to help you achieve your health- and performance-related goals as safely and efficiently as possible. Using an evidence-based approach, we maintain an unbiased perspective when designing our programs, rather than relying on one system or guiding principle. We integrate relevant peer-reviewed research, techniques from some of the most effective systems and programs from around the world, and our own personal experiences to guide our programming philosophies as we strive to set a new standard of excellence in the health and fitness industry. Whether you’re an athlete who wants to improve at their sport, a weight-lifting enthusiast who wants to break their personal records or someone who wants to look, feel, and move better, we can give you the guidance and support that’ll help you to reach your goals.
- Athletes who want to get stronger, faster, reduce injury risk, move better, improve body composition, and improve conditioning for their particular sport
- Anyone interested in improving their body composition, movement quality, strength, and general health
- We take a holistic approach: we conduct a comprehensive assessment for each client in order to design a training and nutrition program specifically tailored to their needs.
- We have technology on our side: our unique website allows us to do long-distance coaching effectively. Each client is assigned a private account that we can use to custom-build workouts on a daily basis. We draw from our own exercise database that includes instructional videos that are accessible to clients to refer to at any time should they have questions regarding technique. Each workout is automatically saved and offers a client feedback feature that we can use to track progress and build future workout programs in order to optimize results.
- Our method is the gold standard: evidence-based practice has been considered the benchmark of care in the medical field for decades, and it’s time that the nutrition and fitness training fields be held to the same level of quality. We incorporate peer-reviewed research, our own in-the-trenches experience, and the most effective components of various systems from around the world to create a program that is truly cutting-edge.
